Greetings! We are delighted that you are considering a Grammar School education for your child. The Grammar School seeks motivated students; we strongly encourage families with early school-age children to apply because it is our belief that a love of learning is instilled in children at a young age. TGS is a warm, nurturing, compassionate, and academically vigorous school, which remains, in many respects, the same school the founders envisioned fifty-one years ago. There is a palpable sense of community at TGS. The school’s spirit, sense of purpose, and unbridled academic mission are exciting for young children, putting them on the path to be lifelong, engaged learners.
For fifty-one years TGS has remained committed to maintaining an educational partnership between parents, students, and faculty This intimate and transparent collaboration sets TGS apart. Our devoted faculty has created an academic program providing depth and breadth for students to develop a passion for learning. Each teacher has the autonomy to design a unique and fulfilling pedagogy – one that fully absorbs students in the art and science of learning.
Come visit our small classes, peek in on our Wednesday School Meeting to discover the talents of all our students (you may even see the 2nd graders performing an abridged version of a Shakespeare play), and take a walk around campus and see students absorbed in field work for their science class or fully engaged in our physical skills development program on our outdoor climbing wall. You may even venture into our library and discover our pre-schoolers immersed in a reading circle!
